Have a Nice Death is the most recent independent roguelike to hit stores. It features the Grim Reaper, also known as Death, who was doing pretty well in his line of work. He eventually got tired of killing people, so he called on some demons to help him out.
Unfortunately, these demons started stealing souls from humans who weren’t supposed to die, which led to mountains of paperwork. Death goes out to try to stop a small demon rebellion because his workload is out of control again, but for a different reason. So, that’s how Have a Nice Death’s story starts. Check Out Self-Fulfillment
When a player first starts Have a Nice Death, there are no hard levels or help features in the options menu. After a player dies for the first time and is sent back to Death’s office, they will see a mix of difficulty levels and help features. Imminent Breakdown is the name of the mode that players start in by default.
Then, to the left of that, players can choose Self-Fulfillment, which gives them different bonuses. The most important bonus is one that reduces damage, which is always a good thing for new players to have. The cool thing about this bonus is that it gets stronger the more players die. It works just like the bonus option in Hades, another great roguelike worth checking out.
Arming Yourself
Players will always have Death’s scythe as their main weapon. However, they can acquire numerous modes for this scythe to become, such as twin sickles or a mod that attaches the scythe to a chain. The scythe option will be presented at the beginning of a run, and that will be it.
On the other hand, cloaks and spells will show up throughout the adventure. Cloaks are super weapons that can be anything from spears to enormous swords. Spells are self-explanatory for anyone who has played an action RPG before. It’s always a good idea to give Death weapons and spells that can hurt enemies from a distance and in groups. To give Death a varied skill set, balance the armory.
Understanding Elevator Pathways
This game functions similarly to a lot of other roguelikes. Players will start in an area and travel through a number of randomly generated floors to reach a boss. Kill the boss, get to a new biome, and do it again. Now, at the end of each floor, there will be an elevator that lets players choose between different floor options.
For example, one floor could lead them to the Vitam-Mana Department, which usually gives players temporary upgrades to their health or magic reserves. Death And Quitting
How does Death pass away? Even though it doesn’t make sense, that’s how Have a Nice Death and other roguelikes work. The majority of a player’s possessions, including spells, weapons, Curses, and so on, are lost when they die. Soulary, a kind of transient currency, is also lost. Spend all of your Soulary on a boss because you never know if they will return or not.
Gold is the only currency that players will never lose, no matter how many times they die. How Upgrades Work

In contrast to Rogue Legacy 2, a roguelike with more permanent RPG-style upgrades, they cannot significantly improve Death with the stock market.
Have a Nice Death also has some RPG elements, since when Death dies, he or she gains a level. This will unlock more bonuses, like an elevator to the first boss. Players cannot choose what they unlock first when they level up, and these level-ups don’t make Death’s stats better.
